Suits for soaking up summer

Now that summer is in full swing, you can start living your best warm-weather life with cookouts, drive-in movies, a breezy beach read, and, of course, poolside tanning in your fave bathing suit. There is no one right swimsuit for every body type. Whereas bandeau tops flatter a petite frame, racer-backs suit an athletic figure, and high-waisted briefs compliment all shapes and sizes. That said, there are exceptions to every rule, which can sometimes make it that much trickier to find the perfect fit. Fortunately, there are a few universal hacks. *** Take, for example, the solid, bold one-piece. This look is shaping up to be summer’s biggest trend, and it can work a number of ways. Wear it layered underneath a silk kimono or tucked into high-waisted pants for a combination that easily transitions from the dunes to cocktail hour. *** To show skin without sacrificing style, suit up in a high-waisted bikini in a classic print, such as this polka-dotted set. Simply pair it with a printed sarong for a mixed-print statement that can double as a maxi skirt. The silhouette cinches the waist for an hourglass shape and gives your swimsuit extra mileage. *** Swimsuits: Embrasse-moi *** Makeup & Hair: Joseph Rothrock *** Model: Jamie Pike *** Location and puppy: Tony and Mary Keefe *** Tanvi Asher is a Rochester-based fashion and industrial designer. She is the owner of Shop Peppermint.
