Nick's Picks: Old Pueblo Grill

The Border Town, a past menu item at Nosh that featured carne asada, al pastor, chicken enchiladas, and queso flameado, was a glimpse of Tucson, Arizona, one of America’s most Mexican cities and the former home of Nosh executive chef, Joe Zolnierowski.

With the-soon-to open Old Pueblo Grill, Zolnierowski, as head chef, will further explore authentic Mexican and Tex Mex-inspired cuisine from a fast-casual perspective.

In a colorful, compact space next door to Nosh at 55 Russell Street, Old Pueblo Grill will serve small plates like elotes, shrimp and crab ceviche, quesadillas made with chicken, shrimp, carne asada, or carnitas, as well as several taco variations including a Korean option with Gochujang chicken or beef, lettuce, kimchi, and crema sauce. There will also be numerous burrito creations, inventive sandwiches, and specials like taquitos and chimichangas. All are ordered over a counter at a very reasonable price.

Old Pueblo Grill opens November 19 and plans to serve alcohol by January 2019.
