I want to be up front about this. I will be across from the (585) magazine Avery Mall Stage at the Corn Hill Arts Festival all weekend. If you think that being an official media sponsor of the forty-ninth annual Corn Hill Arts Festival influenced my decision to make it a Nick’s Pick, then, well, you’re right. Oh well. You can shout “but what about journalistic integrity!?” all you want, just know that I won’t be able to hear you over the dozens of great performers at this year’s festival.
The (585) magazine Avery Mall Stage is hosting musical acts throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday. Highlights from our stage are Into the Mind, a young, exciting, multi- genre group who combine sounds from hard rock, progressive rock, and jazz; and Starling, a songstress with a powerful voice and poetic, emotional lyrics.
If for some unforeseen, bizarre reason you decide to venture away from the (585) magazine Avery Mall Stage, you will find the Corn Hill Arts Festival has plenty more to offer. Three other musical stages will showcase a variety of talented acts throughout the weekend.
In addition to the acoustic pleasure from the four music stages at Corn Hill, festival-goers will be treated to an atmosphere that is unrivaled in its aesthetic. The historic Corn Hill neighborhood is the backdrop for the festival. Beautiful homes, gardens, and tree-lined streets make up this scenic community.
The main draw, no pun intended, is of course, the art. Paintings, drawings, graphics, photography, sculptures, pottery, ceramics, jewelry, and much more from more than 375 juried artists will be up for display and purchase.
Young artists also get their chance to shine with the Emerging Artist Expo. Now in its ninth year, this expo gives new artists an opportunity to display and sell their work in a major festival setting.
As is the case with any great festival, there will be plenty of food and drink options at Corn Hill. An array of local food trucks and beer and wine gardens will refresh festival-goers all weekend.
